Kept

Nothing goes until you say so.

Kept is a calmer way to clear your iPhone camera roll. Swipe through it like a deck of cards. Everything you let go waits in a tray until you confirm.

Coming to iPhone in 2027. Free for your first 500 photos.

Drag a photo, or press ← and →. Nothing here touches your photos.

Swiping changes nothing.
Confirming does.

Other cleaners delete as you go. Kept collects everything you let go in one tray. Tap a photo to bring it back. When you're sure, confirm once, and the photos move to Recently Deleted, where they're usually recoverable for up to 30 days.

It checks the one you're keeping.

When you let a photo go because a better shot exists, Kept links the two. Before anything is deleted, it makes sure the one you kept is still there.

  • Similar shots and bursts are grouped, and the sharpest is suggested. You decide.
  • Screenshots, blurry photos and long videos can be cleared in one go, through the same tray.
  • Everything stays on your iPhone. No account, no upload, no ads.

Your whole library, a little at a time.

Pick a month, an album, a trip or everything. Kept remembers where you stopped.

Challenges

Screenshot Purge, Burst Buster, Blurry Sweep, big videos. One kind of clutter at a time.

Look-alikes

Similar shots side by side. Pick the ones worth keeping; the rest go to the tray.

Questions

What counts toward the free 500?

Only photos you confirm to delete. Reviewing and keeping are free and unlimited.

Doesn't Apple Photos already do this?

Photos merges exact duplicates. Kept helps with everything around them: similar shots, bursts, screenshots, blurry photos and long videos, one short round at a time.

Can I undo?

Before you confirm, always. After you confirm, photos are in Apple's Recently Deleted album, usually for up to 30 days. Apple can skip that step when iCloud storage is full, and Kept tells you when that applies.

Will it free up iCloud storage?

If iCloud Photos is on, deleting on one device deletes everywhere, which frees iCloud storage. Kept tells you before you confirm.

What does it cost?

Kept is free until you've cleared 500 photos. Then it's $5.99, once, through the App Store. No subscription and no ads.

Do my photos leave my phone?

No. Everything runs on your iPhone. There's no account and no upload. If you turn on place names for trips, Apple Maps receives an approximate location, never a photo.
